Fresh basil is what it’s all about

Workout

Thursday-rest

J and I headed to the store bright and early yesterday morning. I didn’t want to deal with crowds, and we had to get something very important. . .a step stool for his toilet. He’s doing great and slept through the night and took his nap with no problems. We have had a few accidents, but I know that’s normal. I just need to be patient=)

Grandma Lee Lee came over to congratulate J on wearing ‘big boy’ underwear. She brought really fun gifts, like a candy toilet haha

Earlier that day, we went to a splash pad with family. It was in Alpine and also had several jungle gyms, covered areas, and a tennis court.  It’s safe to say we’ll be going again.

I forgot to mention awhile ago that I planted a little herb garden of basil and cilantro. I’m working on getting some tomatoes too. Last night I made a pesto basil pizza with fresh basil and it was uh-mazing! Basil is so expensive at the store and it was only $1.19 to plant=)

I’m taking another rest day today from running, and then I’m running a 10 miler tomorrow. My half is only a few weeks away, can’t wait!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

I love the idea of having your own herbs. It seems like they’d be easier to grow than other edible things so maybe I’ll give it a shot. Have a nice weekend 🙂

  5. Fresh basil really is the BEST! We planted some last week and I can’t wait for it to grow so that we can use it to make pesto and caprese salads! 🙂

  6. I didn’t start cooking with fresh basil until about a few months ago. I have definitely been converted though. It is SO much better fresh! I love it on pizza 🙂
