tuesday- 2.82 miles walk/run outside with Maddie

It was Maddie and her families last day here in UT yesterday. We decided to get at least one workout in together, cuz you know that’s what I love to do with my guests. Let me tell ya, Maddie has long legs and totally smoked me! It was so fun to run with my cousin just like we used to do every Sunday up at Grandma’s house. Not to mention we were twinners and you know I love that.

Please excuse my tired crossed eyes…

Then we said our goodbyes to sweet baby R. J loves having cousins around and would wake up every morning really early and ask if the baby was awake yet.

We stayed inside the rest of the day because it started to downpour! I’m totally loving this weather. It’s nice to get a break from the heat.

I’ve been running a lot more lately, and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve learned that it’s a lot more fun to just run what you feel and don’t worry about the rest. I know, simple enough, but it was hard for me not to want to run X amount of miles all of the time. I think it was really good for me to take the last month or so off of running 6 days a week. But now, I’ve got that running itch again, and I want to maybe run another race this summer…we will see(:

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

  1. Such sweet boys! I usually reward myself with a shower after a run–it’s nice to feel clean and refreshed. I usually run at least 4-5 races a year, depending on what kind of deals I get on registration and how much money I have to spend on them. Have a great Wednesday!

    I love that you did a twinner run! I use to run so many more races but now I stick to about two a year.

  3. Running 6 days a week is awesome! You need to come down and motivate me to run that often. I usually run 4-5 days a week along with teaching spin classes. I really have no idea how many races I run a year. Too many! lol

    I usually run 3-4 races a year but this year it’s more like 8! yikes!
