Indonesia(Bintan) Day 2

Last night was the best nights sleep we’ve gotten in awhile. We slept in till 7am and it felt great(my jet lag has been waking me up about 5:30 everyday). We Skyped with j(my mom is spoiling him to death haha)and then we had breakfast.
We were hoping to ride some elephants, but they said if it rains they shut it down. We headed over right when they opened and luckily got a spot. They let us meet some if the elephants… You can tell I was a bit hesitant with these big animals!

Right before we were gonna ride it started pouring on us but luckily they let us ride anyway. It was such a crazy experience. My guide had Ema the elephant trample a small tree and break huge branches with her trunk.

She kept flapping her ears back covering my legs from the rain. Such an amazing animal.

We didn’t have much time till we needed to be on the ferry back to Singapore.
Back in Singapore we checked out China Town and all the shops. There’s Durian(the stinkiest fruit) everywhere!

The streets are lit with these beautiful lanterns, it’s magical.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
