Wknd Recap Minus Easter

friday- 4 mile run on TM + legs / 2.5 mile hike with my sisters and mom

saturday- 4 mile run outside with my sister Bree

This Easter weekend was even more special than most years. It landed on the same weekend as General Conference where we get to hear from our prophet and apostles for 2 days. It’s always so uplifting and I always walk away with so many ideas of how to be a better me.

Backing up to Friday, I woke up and felt really good and ran 4 miles on the tready. I’m so grateful I’m able to workout and feel pretty good most days.

Later, my sisters drove down to my moms and we all went on a hike. It was their last day of Spring break and it did not disappoint. 5 kids, 2 babies, and 4 adults made for quite the entertaining group. The babies through a couple of trantrums, but overall it was a lot of fun.  J loved being with all his cousins and couldn’t bother being by me;)

Saturday morning before conference started I went on a run with my sister Bree. Believe it or not we have never ran together! It was so fun and the miles flew by, well not really since I run at a snail pace now. It was a perfect way to start the weekend of indulging.

When I got home I made cinnamon rolls and had fruit for the first session of conference(you can watch it on TV). I LIVE for these cinnamon rolls every 6 months!

That night before Josh headed off to another church meeting(just for guys) we had dinner together. We had a coupon for Barbocoas and I ate the sweet pork salad. It was good, but does not even closely compare to Cafe Rio, my true love.

While Josh was gone I got busy making my Easter jello. Last year my SIL Whit made this and it was a hit. This year, we had dinner with my family so I thought I’d try it out. I used this recipe, (found in my ‘recipe favorites’ on Pinterest)and everyone thought it looked really cool.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.

I usually don’t change workouts depending on what I plan to eat…I just hope it all balances out eventually. That cinnamon roll looks pretty heavenly though.
