2.5 Months PP: Progress pics

During this pregnancy I was a lot more active than when I was pregnant with Jackson. I’m not sure if I gained more muscle wait, but I ended up gaining just 5 more pounds with Lily than I did with J. Putting the scale aside(I really don’t think the number on the scale tells us a whole lot) I felt SO much better with my second pregnancy. I had a lot more energy, and didn’t start feeling ‘pregnant’ till about the last month. I’d say that’s pretty good!

Here I am 2.5 months postpartum and I’m feeling really good. I wasn’t running this regularly after J, and I already feel strong and like I’m making progress. I love being able to run and lift weights and feel 90% back to normal.

The other 10% is my body is different. I can’t feel 100% back to normal, because my body changes after every pregnancy/delivery and I”m totally okay with that. The miracle of pregnancy is worth all the changes, so for now I’m finding my new normal. I believe I can be strong and fit and that’s the goal I’m working towards. I feel flabby, and that’s fine. I can still see progress.

I see a lot of change between weeks 8 and 10 and it’s due to my diet. I only mean what I’m eating when I say diet. I’m not restricting myself of any calories or really any food except sugar/candy. I still eat treats, but I try and eat only a few a day instead of an entire bag! For me, lunch was my down fall, so now on Monday I make brown rice, cut up squash and sweet potatoes, cook chicken or turkey sausage and then heat up a bowl each day and top it with feta and garlic powder. The rest of my meals I can eat decent, and then I allow myself a few pieces of candy or a cookie each day. Oh and I drink a ton of water! I drink about 72 ounces a day and more if I workout that day.

I’m still working on cleaning up my diet and drinking more water, but I feel good about the progress I’ve made. I’ve got the best support team, they’re pretty cute if you ask me;)

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
