Lily at 5 months

Lily turned 5 months on December 31st. She is a little rolly pollie physically and literally. She loves to roll from her back to her belly and then she squeals till I put her back to laying on her back. Recently she started rolling herself back, from her belly to her back but it doesn’t come as easily.

Her tongue is ALWAYS out, this pic is probably one of my all time favs.

We recently purchased an Ikea high chair and it’s her new favorite thing. She loves to play with toys in it while I cook dinner or clean. While we eat dinner she can be right there with us. She’s tried a few foods(just licks) with us at dinner(sweet potatoes and banana).

I’m not officially starting solids till she’s 6 months.  I just don’t feel any rush and it’s pretty time consuming ha! She nurses really well and is done with both sides in about 5-10 minutes. Such a difference from J who used to easily take 30 minutes to nurse!

I think my favorite thing this month has been the new relationship between J and Lily. He’s always adored her, but recently she has really become aware of him. She follows him in a room with her eyes, always smiles, coos, and squeals when he’s around and loves to hold his hand in the car. As a mother I pray that they will be close and look out for each other.

Lily has started sleeping in her own crib(but is NOT consistent by any means) every night is a new adventure haha. I didn’t want to put her in her own room till 6 mo. but she likes that bed a lot more than the pack n play that was in our room. She’s always taken naps in her crib, but now she goes down at 7pm, wakes at 10:30pm to nurse, then about 2am, then wakes between 5:30-7am. If she wakes at 5:30 I just put her in bed with me till she eats at 7. If she’s sick, like this week she’s had a cold I put her in my room in the pack n play because it just makes me nervous to have her in another room.

5 months have already flown by, I can’t believe she’ll be celebrating her half birthday in one month!

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
