BYU Vegas Bowl Trip

We decided to drive down to Vegas for the BYU Vegas Bowl game the weekend before Christmas. I was very nervous about driving the 6 hours with Lily. She was NOT happy about the 4 hour drive down to Moab but that was at night. We decided to drive in the morning and fortunately both kids did GREAT! We had movies, coloring books, snacks, treats, and grandmas IPad. I kept lily on her schedule and that seemed to work perfectly for her.

Josh’s parents drove down with us and and Whit and her family met us there. As soon as we made it to Vegas on Friday we headed to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. We stayed at the Marriot just off the strip but had to walk through the strip to get to dinner…with 3 kids and 2 babies. We got A LOT of stares. It was crazy and not something I wanted to do again, ha.

Dinner was okay, but the atmosphere was so fun for the kids.

Afterward, we put the kids down(or tried) and left all 5 with papa and gma Lee Lee. We headed to the late show of Zarkana Cirque du Soleil. It was incredible! Unfortunately, Lily woke up shortly after we left and cried most of the time:(

Saturday I got up early and ran 3 miles on the treadmill then the hotel had a fun Elf on the Shelf hunt and story time for the kids.

The boys got ready for the BYU game, while us girls went shopping and took the kids swimming.

The next morning we went to church and then headed home. It was a wonderful trip and I’m so grateful the kids did well in the car. It made it a lot more pleasant.

About Sugar Plum Runner

Welcome to the Sugar Plum Runner! I grew up in WA state, but currently reside in UT with my husband Josh, son Jackson, and 2 daughters Lily and Claire. I love running, but I have never been so inspired to run, race, and blog about it since 4 years ago after I had Jackson. I grew up playing soccer and cheered in high school. My favorite part of both sports(and yes I consider cheer leading a sport) was the conditioning. I found myself running after practice was over on my own. That's when I realized that running may be the sport I really loved.
